TruckX vs Matrack: how do they differ?
Both sell a registered Bluetooth ELD with a driver app. The differences, as each vendor lists them in October 2026:
- Price model. Matrack ships the device at $0 and bills monthly. TruckX's store charges $139 for hardware plus a yearly fee, while its homepage advertises a free device and a 30-day money guarantee, so ask which applies.
- Tiers. Matrack Basic covers HOS logs; IFTA, GPS and alerts are on Premium. TruckX lists IFTA, DVIR and live GPS with the ELD One.
- Languages. TruckX lists apps in English, Spanish, Punjabi and Hindi, and 24/7 on-call support in 5 languages.

Lowest monthly price with no contract points to Matrack. Drivers who want a Spanish, Punjabi or Hindi app, or a 4-channel camera, point to TruckX.
Is Trucker Path an ELD in 2026?
Trucker Path's current fleet page says Trucker Path for Fleets "runs alongside the ELD you already pay for." Your ELD keeps HOS and compliance; Trucker Path adds truck-safe routing, toll costs and live driver location.
A separate Trucker Path ELD Pro order page still lists Basic at $19.95, Pro Plus at $25.95 and Premium at $39.95 per month, billed annually. On FMCSA's revoked list, "Trucker Path ELD Pro" (ELD ID TPPro2, registered by Gorilla Fleet Safety, LLC) shows the status Revoked, dated May 12, 2025. Two earlier Trucker Path ELD registrations show as self-revoked in 2020.
If you like Trucker Path's routing and load board, run it next to a registered ELD. If you already use ELD Pro, ask Trucker Path in writing which registered device and ELD ID your trucks run, and read our guide to revoked ELDs in 2026.
What can a low price leave out?
A low price isn't a problem on its own. What matters is what the plan covers when something breaks at a scale house (we covered the cost side in what budget ELDs really cost). Ask every vendor, in writing:
- Support hours. Who answers at 2 a.m. on a Sunday, by phone or by email ticket?
- Tier contents. Which features are on the exact plan you're quoted? Some vendors put IFTA and GPS on a higher tier.
- Data export. Can you download logs, DVIRs and IFTA data yourself, and for how long after you cancel? Your carrier keeps records of duty status for 6 months under 49 CFR 395.8(k), plus a 6-month backup on a separate device under 395.22(i).
- Malfunction help. Under 49 CFR 395.34, the driver gives written notice within 24 hours and reconstructs the current day plus the previous 7 days on paper; the carrier must fix or replace the ELD within 8 days. Ask how fast replacements ship.
- In-cab packet. Section 395.22(h) requires a data-transfer instruction sheet, a malfunction instruction sheet and blank graph-grids for at least 8 days. Ask whether the vendor supplies them.
- Hardware terms. Is the device free, rented or bought, who pays return shipping in a trial, and how long is the warranty?
- Registration. Which model and ELD ID will you receive, and what will the vendor do if that model is revoked?
- Switching out. If you're leaving an old provider, clear unidentified driving records first. Under 395.32(c), the carrier annotates or assigns them and keeps them 6 months.

What are the TruckX alternatives, and who does each fit?
Option | Fits best if you | Check before buying |
|---|---|---|
Matrack Basic | Want the lowest listed price and mainly need HOS logs | IFTA and GPS are on Premium |
Matrack Premium | Want GPS and IFTA at a low monthly rate | Dash cam price is quoted separately |
TruckX ELD One | Have drivers who prefer a Spanish, Punjabi or Hindi app, or want a 4-channel camera | Whether the $139 store price or the free-device offer applies |
Blue Ink Tech BIT ELD | Want flat no-contract pricing or ELD and camera in one device | Support hours; hardware price under 5 trucks |
Trucker Path for Fleets | Want truck routing and toll costs on top of an ELD you already run | It is an add-on, not your ELD |
Lucid ELD | Want 24/7 support, an AI dash cam option and monthly flexibility | Higher listed price than the budget options |
Where does Lucid ELD fit?
It costs more than the budget options above. The listed price as of October 2026 is $50 per truck per month on a 12-month plan or $60 monthly for Standard, and $70 or $89 for Premium. What that covers, as listed:
- Support: a 24/7 support team, included on every plan, with no setup or activation fees.
- Standard: registered ELD with automatic HOS, IFTA reporting, DVIR, real-time GPS, a fleet dashboard, a driver app with one-tap DOT inspection mode, and integrations including Highway and MacroPoint.
- Premium: a dual-facing AI dash cam that flags speeding, tailgating, lane departure, harsh braking and driver distraction, with in-cab alerts.
- Hardware: free and yours to keep on the 12-month plan. On the monthly plan it's a rental, or you can buy the ELD for $149 or the camera bundle for $399.
- Idle Day Cashback (monthly plans only): when the truck sits, you disconnect the ELD. When it runs again, you reactivate it and re-enter the trailer number and driver credentials, and the disconnected days are credited on your next monthly bill. Reconnect before the truck moves; your logs still need to cover those off-duty days.
If you're weighing about $30 a month over the lowest listed plan against round-the-clock support and a camera option, you can compare plans on the pricing page.
